Rome, Montecitorio and Palazzo Madama, March 17 th - 17 th 2017

This event opened the celebrations of the Italian Parliament for the 60th anniversary of the Treaties of Rome, signed in
1957 in the Roman Capitol and sanctioning the beginning of the great European adventure. The Chamber of Deputies
and the Senate organized a Conference attended by the Presidents of the National Parliaments of the EU Member
States and of the European Parliament as well.
In the morning at the Chamber and in the afternoon at the Senate, after the greetings of their respective Presidents Laura
Boldrini and Piero Grasso, spoke Romano Prodi, former President of the European Commission, and Maria Romana De
Gasperi, Honorary President of the De Gasperi Foundation. Then the representatives of the Parliaments of the other
founding countries, which signed the Treaties of Rome together with Italy, made their speeches too.

The celebration was broadcast live both on Rai1 and on the Camera and Senate satellite and web channel. Behind
the scenes, at the emission direction, Tecnoconference Europe–Del Fio Group with a simultaneous translation system
organized in 10 interpreter booths (both in the Chamber and in the Senate) connected in closed circuit with their respective
legislative halls. In addition, two maxi screens on which two full HD projectors projected the live images of the event
were set up in the Chamber of Deputies.
