With this important summit the plan to let the Western Balkans – one of the most strategic areas of the
continent join the European Union starts up.
The event was attended by 13 Heads of State and Government with their respective Ministers of Foreign
Affairs, Transport and Economic Development, as well as by the EU's High Representative for Common
Foreign and Security Policy Federica Mogherini, the European Commissioner for Neighbourhood Policy
Johannes Hahn, the European Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc, and the heads of many International
Organizations and Development Banks.
Alongside this a trilateral meeting took place between the Italian Prime Minister Paolo Gentiloni, the President
of French Republic Emmanuel Macron and the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Behind the scenes, Tecnoconference Europe–Del Fio Group provided full technological support, including
the latest simultaneous translation system and the closed-circuit TV connection between the Palace of the
Regional Government, the Prefecture and the Palinuro vessel moored in the harbour, through the use of a
microwave radio deck that allowed the diffusion of the ten languages involved in the Summit; four listening
halls were made available in the two buildings, where the audience could follow the live transmission of
meeting of the 13 Heads of State.
The trilateral meeting, within the vessel, was supported by the simultaneous translation in the three languages,
widespread in the Palace of the Regional Government as well, where a large press room was set up with
journalists from many EU countries. An integrated system with Autodome cameras, one of which was installed
on a sailboat's shaft, provided closed-circuit shooting for the interpreter booths inside the vessel.
Further to this, the three leaders made statements from the Audace Pier, using the simultaneous translation
device mentioned above. On that occasion, Tecnoconference Europe has deployed more than one hundred
audio and video outputs to the journalists and televisions gathered to shoot this moment, considered the most
important of the whole Summit.
The leaders of the 13 participating countries met in the Prefecture, while in the Palace of the Regional Government
gathered the Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Transport. The Business Forum, in the presence of the Ministers of
Economic Development, took place at the Maritime Station instead.
Rai Uno broadcast live and Eurovision, for over four hours, all the most important moments of the Summit,
including the Trilateral and the Press Conference held in the courtyard of the Regional Palace.
Tecnoconference Europe–Del Fio Group finally coordinated the scenic set-up of both the press conference
in the courtyard of the Regional Palace, of Piazza Unità d'Italia for the photo opportunity and of the arrival of the
representatives of Italy, France and Germany on the pier, as well as the production of totems, backdrops and roll
ups for all areas involved.
